Showing a shade more fruit than the 2011 version, This Billy Goat Hill Merlot is herbaceous and dignified (go ahead and pour it for your “cabernet snob” friends!). Cedar, bay leaf, exuberant black plum, substantial weight for a merlot grown in a district not known for merlot. A wonderful companion for pork tenderloin, tri-tip, veal chop, or a gathering of loyal friends. An “east bank” classic!
